Jacksonville is located on the banks of the St. Johns River. The area was originally inhabited by the Timucus Indians, and a recent discovery of pottery shards have dated original habitation as far back as 2500 B.C.! Not only is Jacksonville the biggest city in Florida, it may well be the oldest!
Jacksonville is an international port city, and it's deep harbor is home to both military and civilian large water crafts. Many visitors come to Jacksonville for golf, but there are also many annual festivals and events:
